Daniel Sterbens Multimedia Journalist of The Year 2019

My Story

Before this year, it would have been impossible for us to submit a student for this award, because this very website did not exist. Going into this year, the staff of The Talon Paper agreed that we wanted to develop a website to provide more timely content that a regular paper could not encompass. After the arrest of our advisor in November, I took it upon myself to create, design, and manage the entire website, as well as manage all aspects of our newspaper. This includes learning how to produce, manage and direct our new ventures into other multimedia platforms such as podcasts and short videos that are put on our website while also running our twitter account. Throughout the year I have also created various graphics to fit our story needs such as our Valentine’s day and SAT/ACT stories. At the start of 2019, we created an award to recognize students and staff and for these awards I designed and created the graphics you see below. For our new website, I also revamped our logo. I thank you for your time reviewing our site and am truly honored to be considered for Multimedia/Web Journalist of The Year.
