Aaliyah Tejada (20) and Lexie Corell (20). Both Tejada and Corell always push themselves to their limits and they take on any new challenges given to them. They both had very positive outlooks on making it onto girls weightlifting.

“I am seated first in the district which is awesome. I’m always looking forward to improving each and every time, always being at your best and not letting anything get in the way is key when you’re lifting. It really impacts you in many good ways,”Aaliyah said.

“I think underclassmen should take weight lifting because it makes you feel great about yourself especially when you gradually see your progress over time. It makes you feel so much better health wise and gives you a lot of confidence,” Lexie said.

Tejada and Corell have shown their commitment, confidence and love for sports. These athletes are perfect teammates who encourage others to do the best they can do when they are called upon. They have proven that if you work hard enough you can reach your goals.

“Coach Tim White has been a big impact on making sure we reach our goal and is always pushing us to do our best, coach is also always supportive and is hands on but gives you your space when needed, and if you have a question don’t be afraid to ask.”Tejada said.

Tejada and Corell thrive to be the best they can be on a daily basis and they have been working hard to become better at what they do. They are very unassuming, but work to improve and put into practice new techniques and strategies.

Lastly Aaliyah and Lexie stay positive and focused during a time when competition and academics become rigorous, they’re also excellent students and set up great examples to others.
